Our Mission

In April 2007, the Office of Institutional Research & Information Management and the Center for Institutional Effectiveness were consolidated and reorganized into Enterprise Information Management, an administrative unit that supports university-wide information interests and operates under the Vice President for Operations. The primary mission of EIM is to facilitate the continuous improvement of KSU’s enterprise-wide data management, quality, warehousing, analytics, and access for decision support, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and information reporting at the institutional and unit levels. SACS accreditation liaison and reporting functions are also part of this mission. Want to know more? Access EIM’s Five-Year Performance Goals.

Virtual Information Center

EIM supports the Virtual Information Center (VIC) for KSU’s statistical data and operational information. A wide array of static reports, interpretive analyses, and interactive “drill down,” extraction and data reporting tools are available on this EIM Web site. EIM is the future operations center for KSU’s SAS-powered data management systems (data warehouse, marts, dashboards, analytics, etc.). Please browse our site for your information needs, and contact us for additional assistance.

  • SAS Enterprise Intelligence
  • EIM is currently in the process of implementing the SAS Enterprise Intelligence Suite for Higher Education (EISE). This suite of data warehousing, data quality and data analysis tools will be used to assist in monitoring the accuracy of information in KSU’s Banner student information system as well as improve enterprise reporting and analytics. In addition, the SAS EISE will replace this web site with a dynamic portal, called VIC (Virtual Information Center), which will provide continuously refreshed data for a variety of measures.
  • QAS Address Correction
  • An enterprise-wide license was acquired for the QAS (Quick Address Software) for KSU. Initial deployment has focused on KSU’s Banner student information system, but it is available for use against a variety of data sources. Currently, QAS can be used to validate the deliverability of an address using the United States Postal Service (USPS) database as well as reformat an address to meet USPS standards.
